Hello! My name is Dr. Michelle Shin, OD

C .Well Vision Care Optometry has been opened for just a few months, and it has been an exciting and busy new chapter in my optometric career. I have had the absolute honor and pleasure of serving in my community, caring for old and new friends and family, and welcoming all into the C .Well community.

I started C .Well Vision Care in September 2023, knowing that I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to help those in the community “SEE WELL” - to SEE clearly, and to SEE comfortably.

Growing up, I was raised believing education was important and that having a solid foundation of learning would propel me to far and great places. I got my first pair of glasses when I was in the 3rd grade, and the difference of being able to sit anywhere in the classroom and SEE the classroom board clearly was astonishing. Now if we fast forward to 2018, when I started working for Vision to Learn (a non-profit organization), I was providing eye exams for children (from as young as 4 years old to graduating 18 year old seniors in high school), and was devastated to learn of students who were having various (and serious) vision problems, and had never owned a pair of glasses. These students were having a myriad of issues such as trouble SEEing the classroom board, having headaches because of their vision, or having double vision when they did their homework. Some of these students needed more than just a no-cost comprehensive eye exam. Some of them needed glasses. Some of them needed Vision Therapy. Some of these students live in this community.

For those reasons and more, C .Well Vision Care was created. I am deeply passionate about equality in education and truly believe clear and comfortable vision to learn well is a fundamental right for all students. At the non-profit that I continue to work with, I am limited to eye examinations and glasses. However, at C .Well Vision Care, I am able to exercise the full scope of Optometry (including glasses and contact lenses), and can offer Vision Therapy to further cement the visual system to SEE comfortably and clearly.
